Raid on Macintosh

Posted in Mac OS X at 12:06 pm by intermediatemacintosh

Talked to Shane from Mactronics about replacing the disk drives in my G4 Quicksilver.

He said all the bays are in the case. Just screw in the drives to the brackets and attach the cables. Might want to jumper the drives to Cable Select, but would not really matter since the OS would override any jumper settings.

Has seen many problems with Apple’s version of RAID, and instead recommended a $75 hardware raid card from Sonnett.
